1. I have friends in Australia. Is it possible for me to run my business there? Yes. In order to run your business from another country such as Australia, first get an Overseas Distributor Level Certificate form from HTE. Fax the form to the HTE Australian office and simultaneously purchase a Chi Machine. Also, provide them information about your Australian friends. According to company policy, we cannot issue commission checks overseas.
2. Why must I provide my Social Security number when I submit my Distributor Application? The IRS requires us to provide all Social Security numbers of our Distributors. The IRS forces us to withhold 31% of any commission check for those Distributors who did not provide a Social Security number.
3. What happens when my commission check is different than my statement? Many times commission adjustments are made due to returned products and bounced checks as well as charge backs or data entry errors.
4. Do I receive a 1099 at the end of the year on earnings? If in a calendar year, HTE pays out more than $600 to you in commissions and Bonuses, a 1099 will be sent to you as an individual. Corporations do not receive 1099s. In the event that you lose your 1099 for tax purposes, please call Customer Service and request another one to be mailed to you.
5. I mailed an order with a check attached. Why was it returned? There are many reasons why a check or order may be returned. If there is a phone number on the account a call will be made to the customer or Distributor. If there is no signature on the check and there is no contact information, the order and check will be mailed back to the person who initially placed the order.
6. Can I put the company's name on my personal literature? No. HTE America’s policies and regulations specifically prohibit anyone from using HTE company names, letterheads or logos without prior approval by HTE Corporate management. This includes, but is not limited to, materials contained in the HTE Sales Kit such as literature, audio/video tapes, flyers and so on. We understand some Distributors have violated this regulation. We want to remind everyone of this issue in order to protect both your interests and ours.

1. I sent my machine in for repair or return. Why was it refused? Returns or repairs without an RA (Return) or RP (Repair) number assigned by Customer Service will be refused. When you need to send the machine back for repair, or return (within the 14-day trial period),PLEASE FIRST CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE TO OBTAIN THE APPROPRIATE RA OR RP NUMBER. You will also be instructed to place the invoice number on the outside of the box. In doing so, we can efficiently track inventory and customer property. This reduces wasted time and energy. Please tell your customers, should they wish to return the machine, to always contact you first. As Distributor, you should call the company and get the appropriate authorization number for them -- that is part of being a sponsor.
2. I am a tax-exempt purchaser and have provided all proper documentation after I placed an order. Why can't I get a refund of the tax that HTE charged me on that order? At the time we processed your order, we had no knowledge about your tax-exempt status. All orders must be reported and filed with your state tax department after invoicing. Once filed, orders are not supposed to be changed. Distributors with tax-exempt privilege must provide legible and complete documentation at the time the order is placed.
3. I placed my order from abroad. Do I have to pay duty? Yes. HTE will only collect shipping fees. Customers themselves are responsible for paying duties, which vary from country to country.
4. Why are my check orders processed slower than my credit card orders? There are two possible reasons: 1) we need to deposit the check and wait for it to clear; OR, 2) if the payment is short of the order amount, we must then contact the customer to satisfy the balance due. Both are time consuming. In order to help us expedite check orders, we suggest that you let your sponsor verify the correct order amount before you submit the payment.
5. I lost my HotHouse warranty card. Can you mail me another one? All information about your purchase is recorded in our computer system. The one-year warranty will be in effect from the date of purchase. Sending us the card is not necessary.
6. Does the company have its own website? Yes, we do. The address is www.hteamericas.com
7. Does the Chi Machine have a satisfaction and after-sales guarantee? All Chi Machines that were purchased after April 15th, 2000 will have an extended warranty of 2 years.
8. Why does HTE hold an order for 2 weeks when the order is paid by check and is over $3000? Orders of this nature are held until the check has cleared with the bank. Therefore, all orders will not be shipped until payment has been made.
9. What do I have to do to become exempt from paying sales or use tax on my orders? The Distributor and/or customer need to supply HTE with the proper paperwork (retail license, sales & use tax certificate, business permit or any official document) given to you by the state explaining your tax-exempt status. This must be faxed to HTE along with the company form to be filled out.
10. Why am I charged city tax if I live in the countryside? If you can provide proper paperwork from the city stating that your address is a countryside address, city tax will not be applied to you.
11. What is the procedure of receiving lost commission checks? The Distributor needs to call an HTE Customer Service Representative to report the situation. At that time, Customer Service will follow-up to make sure the check was not received and cashed by someone else. At that time, another check will be issued.
12. What do I do when a Fax Check has bounced? Some smaller banks do not take a bank draft from HTE as a check for a particular purchase. At that time, the customer or Distributor would have to send another form of payment to cover the purchase (money order, original check, or cashiers check).
13. I requested a refund on my charge card. How long does it take for my credit card to receive the refund? After a return is made, the charge card statement should reflect the adjustment 5-7 days later.

1. I will be moving to Europe. Can I take my Chi Machine and HotHouse and use them there? We manufacture both a 120V/60Hz Item #SS001C2 and a 220V,50Hz Item SS001A6 version of the Chi Machine. Because the Chi Machine motor does not function well on a transformer, we do not suggest using the 120V/60Hz Chi Machine in Europe. We recommend you acquire the 240V model. The HotHouse is only manufactured in a 120V version but it can be used successfully in Europe as long as a transformer of sufficient capacity is used.

NOTICE: Any machine returned to us because of noise that is tested and shown to have a level at or below 70db will not be covered under the warranty service. All costs, including labor charges involved in such a return, will be the responsibility of the sender.
